Carrie Smith Libman is a fine (and fun!) artist from Pittsburgh, PA where she lives with her husband and three young children. She received her BFA in Sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis and her MFA in Sculpture from the University of Florida where she also taught Sculpture and Drawing. Since becoming a mother, her work has become a direct and indirect collaboration with her children, with a focus on joy, wonder, and the future.

Blending fine art materials with craft supplies, she works in short, colorful bursts of time from her basement studio, an imperfect patchwork of moments and memories. Her work is included in private collections across North America and she is an active member of Pittsburgh’s art community through Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors, and Flock Artists Collective.

Everyday Portraits started as a passion project. Wanting to get her favorite photos of her own kids (and dog!) out of her phone and onto her walls, she started combining her colorful and highly patterned collage work with cut out photos of her kids. She can’t wait to make something special for you.
